A modified inside-outside algorithm to estimate probabilistic parameters over
implicit positive and negative evidence was proposed.  We have demonstrated that
a contrastive estimation based method significantly outperforms a standard
inside-outside algorithm in terms of Specificity, without any loss of
Sensitivity.
